Uwharrie Point is the home of the Old North State Club, a private equity club designed by Tom Fazio which has received many awards and honors. It is ranked as the #1 private course in North Carolina and ranked the #2 best course overall in the state behind only Pinehurst #2 which has hosted the US Open.
The Old North State Club has been selected to host the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golf Championship on numerous occasions and will do so again in 2007.
